<p>The complete bone arthroplasty consists of: the metallic flank socket spiralled joint ring, which is screwed to the bone section of the socket joint. It has vertical grooves for the screwing of the plastic cup insert. The plastic cup insert is made from durable polyethylene, which when screwed to the metallic ring causes the opening up of the ring's base inside the bone and therefore a more stable hooking of the socket joint. There are three sizes of the femoral stem of the complete prothesis, and the metallic head of 32 millimetres, without an epiphysis, the corresponding female cone has an epiphysis of 16 millimetres and 32 millimetres, and when placed on top of the cone of the epiphysis of the femoral prothesis, fits perfectly and with a light tap becomes embedded so it could be dislodged as only as a result of a very strong blow.</p> |
