Process for producing a thin-walled ceramic component

A thin-walled ceramic component is produced by coating a sheet of fibre material with a suspension containing finely divided sinterable powder, a volatile liquid phase and a binder, drying the suspension and heating the coated body until the sinterable powder sinters together and the fibre material is destroyed. In this process, a flat textile sheet of fibre material is converted into a shape-retaining shaped body having net-like porous walls. A curable binder can be used here.
