PURPOSE:To obtain a toner which exhibits stable electric chargeability and good transferability with less environmental fluctuation by incorporating a specific binder resin and metal salt therein. CONSTITUTION:A polyester resin consisting of a bisphenol type diol and polyvalent carboxylic acid is used for the binder resin of the toner for developing an electrostatic charge image essentially consisting of a coloring agent, binder resin and electric charge controlling agent, and the metal salt of a salicylic acid and/or the metal salt of a salicylic acid deriv. is used for the charge controlling agent. The toner exhibits the good negative chargeability if such specific resin is used as the binder. The metal salt of the salicylic acid or the salicylic acid deriv. to be used can be expressed by the formula. In the formula, R<1>-R<3> are preferably an alkyl group or allyl group of 1-6C and Me is preferably zinc. |
