Agitator for the introduction of gases into liquids as fine bubbles, the agitator rotor being designed as a screw or propeller and the gas outlet orifices being designed as an annular gap or annular chamber. Flow passes the agitator rotor axially and at least part of the agitator rotor protrudes into the annular gap or annular chamber.
