The present invention relates to a device intended to enable poles, such as poles supporting power lines or the like, to pivot with respect to their longitudinal axis. The device according to the present invention is characterised in that it comprises a bearing surface 1 intended to come into contact with a pole 2, a strap 3 locked in place on one side of the bearing surface 1 and intended to surround the pole 2 in order to be locked in place with respect to the other side of the said bearing surface and a handle 4 for manoeuvring the bearing surface 1, which handle is actuated in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pole 2 in order to tighten the strap 3 on one side or other of the bearing surface 1 so as to cause the pole 2 to pivot from one side or the other with respect to its longitudinal axis. <IMAGE>
