PURPOSE:To surely erase printed contents remaining on thermal transfer paper, by displacing a heater depending on the change in the outside diameter of a thermal transfer paper winding roll and detecting the change to control the electrical current for the heater, and by putting the heater aside to a safe position. CONSTITUTION:When a winding spool 4 is turned clockwise by driving a motor, thermal transfer paper R is wound on the spool and a hollow roller 12 at one end of an arm 14 is turned counterclockwise while the roller is kept in contact with the thermal transfer paper by a spring 15. The ink of the roll 6 of the wound paper R is liquefied by a heater 11 provided in the roller 12, so that characters on the roll of the paper are made impossible to read as those (a) on paper P. To remove the roll 6, a cover 17 is swung counterclockwise and a switch 19 is turned on. As a result, the electrical current flowing through the heater 11 is cut off and the heater is simultaneously swung counterclockwise. For this reason, the liquefied ink is cooled so that the thermal transfer paper in the form of the roll 6 is bonded to itself. A secret is thus surely prevented from leaking. |
