PURPOSE:To miniaturize a 2nd enclosure, and to eliminate the installation of a driving source in the 2nd enclosure and to reduce the weight by installing an original platen on the side of a 1st enclosure, allowing the 2nd enclosure to be opened and closed after moving the original platen away from the track of the opening and closing of the 2nd enclosure, and stopping the original platen from being driven when the 2nd enclosure is opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:The 1st enclosure 19 supports the 2nd enclosure 21 in a free opening/closing state as centering a pin 20 and when the 2nd enclosure 21 is opened, the original platen 10 is dislocated to the left end in the figure and then the 2nd enclosure 21 is opened. One end 10a of original platen glass 10 is held by a glass holding member 26 and fixed slidably to the 1st enclosure by a slide rail 27 fixed on the 1st enclosure. Further, the other end 10b of the original platen glass 10a is held clamped by a sliding member 31 fixed to the 2nd enclosure. The driving force to the original platen 10 is transmitted from a pinion gear 28 to a rack 29 fixed to the glass holding member 26 through a driving transmission means. Therefore, when the original platen is dislocated to one end part and the 2nd enclosure is opened, the driving force is completely cut.
