PURPOSE:To contrive an elongation of the useful life of a motor and a reduction in power consumption, by continuously operating a DC motor by continuously supplying it with a driving signal from the start to the end of printing of predetermined data, and printing while sequentially changing printing pattern data on a dot line basis by an interrupting function of a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:With a DC motor 5 started, a label releasable paper is paid out from a label roll, and is fed by being clamped between a platen and a thermal head or the like. A microcomputer 21 supplies a timing (timer value) for printing a label piece to a timer 26a in a DC motor controlling circuit 26 through an I/O port 25 by strobe signals STR1, STR2, thereby starting the timer. The microcomputer 21 supplies the strobe signal STR1 to the thermal head 6 through the I/O port 25 only after being set into an interruptible state in which it can receive a timing signal from the timer 26a as an interrupt signal. Dots in one half of a dot line are printed on the label piece. Dots in the other half of the dot line are printed by the next strobe signal STR2. |
