PURPOSE:To inhibit the easy ON/OFF operations of a terminal equipment despite a mistaken touch given to an operating key by securing such a constitution where the selection is ensured between the short and long key detection times for each operating key by means of a changeover switch of a key detecting part. CONSTITUTION:The key operating signal of an operating key 9 set in 1:1 correspondence to a terminal equipment 10 is supplied to a key detecting part 14. Then the selection is possible between key detecting times T1 and T2 by means of a changeover switch 15 set for each key 9. The time T1 is defined as the time during which the keys are detected by the touching key operations; while the time T2 is defined as the time during which the keys are detected by pushing keys continuously together with satisfactory confirmation. Thus the key 9 set opposite to the equipment 10 to be turned on and off only in case of a sure operation is discriminated from the key 9 which is turned on and off with a touching action. Thus the misoperations of the equipment 10 are decreased.
