PURPOSE:To automatically form required items other than an original image by arranging a light emitting body for forming an electrostatic latent image for a required item near an image carrier in an image forming device for developing the electrostatic latent image of an original. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 to be an image carrier is freely rotatably arranged and the electrostatic latent image of an original image is formed on the surface to the drum 2 by projecting light passed through an optical path K to the surface of the drum 2. The light emitting body consisting of an LED is arranged near the drum 2 to project an image of a required item such as a date other than the original image to the surface of the drum 2. When light from the light emitting body 4 is projected to the charged drum 2 under the state that the optical path K is closed by a shutter 24 to form the electrostatic latent image of a date or the like. This latent image is superposed to the latent image of the original and then developed through a prescribed process. Thus, the date or the like is automatically formed simultaneously with the formation of the original image.
