PURPOSE:To form a metal fiber reinforced composite plastic material containing a long metal fiber and excellent in mechanical strength, by continuously supplying the long metal fiber from the intermediate part of a heating cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A plastic stock material supplied from a plastic stock material supply hopper 16 is melted while compressed and transferred by the rotation of a screw 12. The long metal fiber 23 supplied from a metal fiber supply hopper 17 is sent into the molten plastic stock material and kneaded with the plastic stock material while shortly sheared by strong shearing force caused by the rotation of the screw 12 and the resulting compound is extruded from a lead end extrusion orifice 25. On the other hand, a noxious volatile component is sucked and removed from a volatile component removing port 15 by a vacuum pump 18. As mentioned above, by continuously supplying the long metal fiber continued in a longitudinal direction, it can be stably and quantitatively supplied without generating bridging in the hopper and the supply amount thereof can be also easily controlled. In addition, by mixing the metal fiber in a long state, a large amount of a metal fiber reinforced plastic material having excellent strength can be formed. |
