PURPOSE:A polyamide ester which improved heat resistance, improved readily processing properties by solvent solubility and both characteristics of polyester and polyamide, having a structure containing a specific repeating unit. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide-ester which substantially has a structure shown by formula I[X component in the formula is group shown by formula II(R<1> is H, CH3 or C2H5); Y component is group shown by formula III(R<2> is H, CH3 or C2H5); Z component is chain member shown by formula IV; m and n are number of repeating units; molar ratio X/Y of the X component and Y component fed is 1/99-99/1] and has >=0.6dl/g intrinsic viscosity (etainh) when 0.5g of the polyamide-ester is dissolved in 100ml dimethylacetamide and the solution is measured at 30 deg.C. The preferable molar ratio of the component X and the component Y is X:Y=20:80-90:10. Terephthalic acid chloride or isophthalic acid chloride is preferable as the component Z.
