PURPOSE:To make an electric heater or the like unnecessary and prevent freezing by a simple structure, by a method wherein, a temperature deciding unit, which outputs an operation signal in a temperature lower than the freezing temperatures of water in a heat exchanger and does not output the operation signal in a temperature higher than the freezing temperature of the same, is provided in the title hot-water supplier. CONSTITUTION:When an operation signal is inputted into a combustion unit 4, a combustion control unit 5 receives it and opens a solenoid valve 6 to supply fuel to a burner 7 and ignite the fuel simultaneously by discharging an ignitor 8 to burn it. When a water temperature in a heat exchanger 1 is reduced and the temperature of the same becomes the freezing temperature or lower, a temperature deciding unit 3 inputs s temperature signal from a temperature detector 2 and outputs the operation signal while the combustion unit 4 burns the fuel by the operation signal and heats the heat exchanger 1 to prevent the freezing of the water in the heat exchanger 1 by heating it. When the water temperature is increased and becomes higher than a temperature, in which the water is not frozen, the temperature deciding unit 3 puts the operation signal OFF and the combustion unit 4 stops the combustion of the title device.
