The tool is fitted at the end of the rocker arm of a power shovel; it consists of a fixed part 2 firmly attached to the rocker arm 1 and immobilised as an extension of it, and of a movable part 3 articulated at the end of the rocker arm 1 and controlled by a connecting rod 6 actuated by a jack 9. The tool has a shape which resembles the beak of a parrot with ends which interpenetrate at the end of travel, in the closed position. The tool also comprises a removable blade 13 firmly attached to the movable part 3, which interacts with a counter-cutter 11 placed in the fixed part 2, substantially as an extension of the longitudinal axis 12 of the rocker arm 1. <IMAGE>
