<p>The bag packing machine has a shaping shoulder with a roughly triangular ramp extending from a base and leading at the apex to an opening whose edge lies in a plane inclined to the ramp at more than 90 deg. Two opposite triangular sidewalls extend from the base to the opening, nearing each other as they approach the latter. The shoulder is situated between a roll of sheet material and a conveyor for the latter, so that the ramp base runs parallel to the roll axis. The flat strip of sheet material is guided over the shoulder and the edge into the opening at right angles to the roll axis, being pulled into a half-hose shape. The conveyor engages with the opposite edges of the half-hose, and alongside it is a welding unit joining the edges together.</p> |
