PURPOSE:To obtain a temperature thermometer on which the direction of scrolling operation to be performed is easily discriminated by calculating two temperature value areas larger and smaller temperature value data and classifying and displaying them. CONSTITUTION:Temperature value data from an A/D conversion part 2 is stored in the virtual image plane area of a RAM 70 corresponding to detection time. A scroll coordinate reference point B(X0, Y0) is set with a slide switch 51, a time setting switch 52, and a scrolling operation switch 601. Then, temperature value data within a range of 3 deg.C is selected in the virtual image plane area for 100sec from the reference point B and displayed on a graphic display part 101 through a scroll display image plane area so that its right lower corner is at the reference point B. In this case, they are displayed in black and white corresponding to the areas above and below the detected temperature value. Thus the temperature area is divided to make the position on the scroll display image plane easy to know.
