PURPOSE:To process the playback signal and input video signal of a low frequency conversion type VTR together with extremely simple constitution by obtaining a continuous chrominance subcarrier from the color burst of the input video signal and using it as a reference signal. CONSTITUTION:The input video signal is made into the continuous chrominance subcarrier from the color burst by a color synchronizing part 1 to become the reference signal of the color signal processing circuit 27 of the VTR 2, whose playback color burst is the same as that of the input signal. The low frequency converted color signal is frequency-converted by an APC loop in a processing circuit 27 and the color burst is so controlled as to become in phase with the input reference signal. The output and input video signal of the VTR 2 are inputted to a signal processing part 3, the output of the VTR 2 is reduced on a screen and put in the video signal, and the output appears at a terminal 5.
