PURPOSE:To raise the rigidity of a foundation by method in which the area surrounded by strip foundation for a structure is divided into rectangular sections by strip foundations, and tension members are set in the rectangular sections to give a tensional force to them by turnbuckles. CONSTITUTION:The inside area of a foundation 1 for housing is divided into three rectangular sections 6a-6c, and three tension members 15 with turnbuckles 19 are set in the middles of the sections 6a-6c. Strip foundations 24a-24c are provided in parallel with the short sides in the central parts of longitudinal direction where three tension members 15 are crossed with each other, and the nearly central parts of the members 15 are supported. Both ends of the members 15 are mutually pulled by operation of the turnbuckles 19 to allow tensional forces to act in two diagonal directions and the longitudinal direction. The rigidity of the whole of the foundation 1 can thus be raised to prevent the deformation of the foundation by unequal subsidence, earthquake, etc.
