<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic control device usable in common for many kinds of vehicles by enabling the electronic control device itself to discriminate the kind of vehicle carrying the same electronic control device on the basis of a detecting signal from such a vehicle speed sensor as being commonly on a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 11 controlling an automatic speed change mechanism or the like is equipped with a micro-computer 111 which operates a shift timing or the like on the basis of various detecting signals inputted thereinto through an input buffer 112. In this case, the electronic control device 11 is inputted with the first frequency signal SP1 of a frequency responding to a travel speed from the first vehicle speed sensor 13 and with the second frequency signal SP2 responding to a rotational speed determined by a speed change gear ratio and from the second vehicle speed sensor 14. And the reciprocal relation of the first and the second vehicle speed S1, S2 sought from both signals SP1, SP2 is decided relationally on S1/S2=A, and in response to the outcome of this decision, it is made to be decided whether a device-carrying vehicle is a vehicle A or a vehicle B.</p> |
