PURPOSE:To obtain distinct color tone by reducing resonating structure by coupling a specified hydrazone coupler with a diazonium salt in the presence of alkali and forming a picture image of a color material by allowing the coupled product to cause chelate reaction with a transition metal compd. CONSTITUTION:A compd. expressed by the formula is used as couple for a diazo copying material to cause coupling reaction with a diazonium salt in the presence of alkali, then, the coupled product is allowed to react with a transition metal compd. to cause chelate reaction. The coupler is white or approximately white, and the liquid for the photosensitive layer can be made water-soluble. The coupler couples with a highly sensitive and stable diazonium salt and causes chelation with a transition metal to form a complex having a distinct color tone and clear picture image having no turbines. In the formula, R is a water-soluble group; X is a group of atoms necessary for forming substituted or unsubstituted pyridine ring, thiazole ring, benzothiazole ring, or benzopyridyl ring; n is an interger 1-4. |
