PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of cabitation erosion by furnishing on the way of fuel passage a piston device which pressurizes the fuel in the period between completion of injection and start of the next cycle injection. CONSTITUTION:With minor energy, a piston device 5 furnished near the inlet to a fuel injection valve 3 crushes a cavity to be generated within a fuel passage by pressure sending action at the time of main injection of a fuel injection pump 1 and the suck-back action thereafter. Piston 5 of said piston device 5 is driven by a solenoid whose current supply timing is controlled by a controller 6a, and the pressure is applied to inside of the fuel passage. As a result, any cavity generated in an oil line of fuel injection pipe 2 or said fuel injection valve 3 will disappear mostly until start of the next cycle injection, which together with small cavity crush energy at the time should prevent occurrence of cabitation erosion.
