PURPOSE:To obtain a wound core with excellent core characteristics, by arranging a groupe of laminated layer blocks on a metallic retainer plate for forming, which blocks are shaped in a nearly circular form, and overlapping mutually both ends of the groupe of laminated layer blocks. CONSTITUTION:Each laminated layer block 10a-10d of core layer plates are mounted on the table 15a of a forming equipment 15. In this state, rollers 17 and 17a are pushed along a guide groove 16 to the front side of the table 15a by driving cylinders 18 and 18a. Then a belt 13 is tightened in accordance with transferring of the rollers 17 and 17a, and makes both ends of the bolocks 10a-10d bend in the mutually facing direction. After the blocks 10a-10d are joined, a retainer plate 12 for forming is made to bend to form an element assembly of wound core. Then a wedge-plate is inserted with pressure, and the element assembly of wound core is shaped in a nearly rectangular form.
