PURPOSE:To recognize the rotation direction of a tape by observing a reel turntable externally by providing a transparent window of a convex lens shape whose center position is shifted in an optional direction to the center position of the reel turntable to a cassette holder. CONSTITUTION:The transparent window 8 formed as a convex lens is provided to an upper cabinet 4 of a cassette holder to recognize the rotation direction of the reel turntable 9. Since the center of the transparent window 8 is shifted from the center of the reel turntable 9 in an optional direction, in looking at it from the direction of an arrow B, a hub 11 of a cassette tape 10 is magnified by the lens effect of the transparent window 8. Thus, when the reel turntable is driven 9 in either the arrow C or D, the hub 11 is driven at the same time and the tape running direction of the cassette tape 10 is recognized from the rotation direction of the hub 11 observed with magnification.
