PURPOSE:To set different tabs in plural placed by mixing tab control information with document information and effectively setting the tab in one line until a new tab is set after a next line. CONSTITUTION:As the tab control information mixed with the document data 9 (character code), a tab setting code is determined, and can be identified from a general character code. This tab setting code declares that the tab is set in a position where the general character code is disposed immediately thereafter and when the tab code is inputted after the next line, the tab control to the setting is carried out. When the tab is set on another line, the tab position set in the preceding line is treated as an effective range being completed. For instance, when the tab setting is carried out at the line 31, 33 the positions set to (a) and (b) are effective in the interval of the line 32 and when the tab code is inputted, a display position is changed to the position of (c) or (d).
