PURPOSE:To produce dispersed spherical fine palladium particles having a narrow particle size distribution when an aqueous soln. of chloropalladic acid is reduced to produce fine palladium particles, by reducing the soln. at a specified reaction temp. with a reducing gas under a specified partial pressure. CONSTITUTION:When an aqueous soln. of chloropalladic acid is reduced to produce fine palladium particles, the soln. is reduced at high temp. and pressure by introducing a reducing gas to form fine palladium particles. The reaction temp. is regulated to 50-150 deg.C and the reducing gas is kept under 0.5-25kg/cm<2> partial pressure. Gaseous H2, CO or SO2 is used as the reducing gas.
