PURPOSE:To read recording information in an excellent way by moving beam spot to a position before or after a position corresponding to an address just before track jump and executing the normal reproduction when the track jump takes place at the same position and the jumped address is the same. CONSTITUTION:A processor of a controller 12 stores the preceding address information and the present address information in a RAM 24 as the track jump just before and after addresses respectively when the difference between present and preceding address information obtained attended with the movement of the information detecting point of a pickup 1 is a prescribed value or over. After the information detecting point is moved radially up to the position corresponding to the just preceding address again, the point is moved in the prolonged direction and when the difference between the present and preceding addresses is a prescribed value or over, the just preceding address and the preceding address, and the just after track jump address and the present value are compared respectively, and when they are coincident with each other the information detection point is moved from the position corresponding to the track jump just preceding address to a forward position by a prescribed value, and moved backward by a prescribed distance. Then the normal reproduction is executed.
