PURPOSE:To obtain a curable composition excellent in flexibility, hardness, etc. and suitable as, e.g., a coating material, comprising a reaction product of a specified vinyl polymer having silyl and hydroxyl groups with a polyol and a polyisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl polymer having silyl and hydroxyl groups, composed of 5-50wt% units of a monomer of the formula (wherein R is a 1-12C alkyl or aryl, R' is a halogen, alkoxy or the like a is 0-2, R'' is a hydrocarbon group having a double bond, Z is a bivalent organic group or a direct bond), e.g., acryloxyalkylsilane, 1-20wt% units of a hydroxyl group-containing monomer and 94-30wt% units of other polymerizable monomers is prepared. The purpose curable composition is prepared by reacting this polymer with a polyol, a polyisocyanate and, optionally, an active hydrogen-containing silane coupling agent or an isocyanatoorganosilane.
