PURPOSE:To realize a method of high accuracy featuring simple setting of apparatus and small amount of calculation, by relating a point on an object with its image point by camera parameters and calculating the co-ordinates of the point on the object from the image point. CONSTITUTION:A slit light 3 is irradiated onto an object 4 arranged in an operation space and this area is photographed with a camera 2 and a distance to this object 4 is measured basing up on the image on the image-developed surface. A point P on the object surface and the image point Pi on the image- developed surface of the point P are expressed by operation co-ordinate system set in this operation space, and each same-dimensional co-ordinate system of the image systems set on the image developed surface. And camera parameters representing each element of the series relating the co-ordinates of these points P, Pi are determined by image-developing and measuring of the points on the reference body 4a by the operation space. And, a plane formula of the light 3 is obtained by the results of a plurality of measurements of an intersecting point of the body 4a and the light 3. Alternatively, a position in the operation co-ordinate system of the point P on the body 4 is measured from the camera parameters, plane formula of the light 3 and the co-ordinates of the point Pi.
