PURPOSE:To enhance the durability of the title apparatus, by detecting the position of a pointer by detecting the load applied to the pointer. CONSTITUTION:A zero position load mechanism 4 is operated by drawing out a crown 3 at the time of the correction of time and a pin protrudes at a zero position (12 o'clock position). At the same time, a rotation detecting pulse is formed by a motor driving circuit 2 and a pointer runs itself until reaches the pin protruding at the zero position. When the pointer reaches the pin and a motor 1 is brought to a non-rotary state, non-rotation is detected by a rotation detecting circuit 5 and motor driving pulses from the point of time when a rotation detecting pulse is formed to the point of time when non-rotation is detected are counted by a counter 6. Further, when the value of the counter is set to (n), the calculation of 60-n is performed by an operation circuit 7 and the calculated value is preset to a pointer position counter 8. Hereupon, the pin at the zero position is drawn back by the mechanism 4 and the value of the counter 8 comes to a pulse by the circuit 2 and the pointer moves corresponding to said pulse. By this method, the position of the pointer is detected and the synchronism with an internal circuit is taken.
