Device for beating paper pulp, comprising a set of two or more facing crown rings 1, 2 rotating relative to one another and between which the pulp to be beaten passes, each crown ring comprising relief patterns 5, 6 which are repeated at regular intervals in similar elementary sectors. The elementary patterns on each of the crown rings consist of curved reliefs. The drainability parameters of the pulp which it is intended to obtain can thus be determined independently. <IMAGE>
