PURPOSE:To maintain the quantity of the plating metal ions in a plating liquid and the pH value of said liquid at normal values with an electrolating device provided with an insoluble anode by passing the plating liquid in which the plating metal ions are decreased together with air foam through a cell packed with a plating metal. CONSTITUTION:The plating liquid which is decreased in the concn. of Zn ions and is also decreased in the pH value by the plating treatment in the plating cell 1 of the electrolating device for, for example, Zn, is passed by a pump through the inside of a plating liquid circulating and dissolving device 2 via a pipe 4 and a lower liquid cell 3a of a circulation tank 3. Many electroforming Zn plates 7 having much ruggedness on the surfaces are disposed in the dissolving device 7 and the plating liquid is passed between such plates; at the same time, the foam of the air is generated from a foam generator 2b. The gaseous hydrogen generated when Zn is dissolved in the plating liquid is removed by the air foam and the Zn plates 7 are efficiently dissolved into the plating liquid, by which the concn. of the Zn ions is increased to the normal value and the pH value of the plating liquid is adjusted to the normal 0.5-2.5. The plating liquid is filtered of sludge and undissolved residues by a filter 9 and is again sent to the plating cell 1 where the liquid is used for the Zn plating.
