The invention relates to the arrangement of a vertically adjustable window of a vehicle door, which window is integrated into a vehicle-body outer surface in a largely flush manner and is guided on a door frame, with an angularly rigid enclosing rail which is fixed to the door frame, engages around the upper edge of the window, bounds an upper circumferential side of the door outer surface and surrounds a stop rail running transversely to the plane of the window. A sealing profile is arranged between a window frame and the window, which sealing profile lies on the upper window edge between the outer surface of the window and a mating surface of the enclosing rail. In order, whilst retaining the advantages of a frame-side guide for the window, to be able to produce the optical impression of a frameless window, it is provided that the vertical extension of the enclosing rail essentially ends with the stop rail, that the length of the vehicle door virtually corresponds to the width of the window, that there is integrally formed on the sealing profile on the upper window edge a casing profile with which the exterior surfaces of the enclosing rail are encased, and that those surfaces of the door-frame pillars which are visible per se from the outside are likewise covered with associated sealing-profile sections. |
