In order to impart linear momentum to a vehicle without allowing the vehicle to come into contact with its surroundings by way of friction, buoyancy or recoil forces, use can be made of the precession forces of gyroscopes or direct the inertia of centrifugal forces in any direction. It is thereby possible, in particular, to steer and to move a space vehicle without it being reliant upon the limited amount of fuel which can be carried.
