PURPOSE:To heat and cool a die and die holder with high efficiency and form a blank by extruding it in the prescribed shape, by flowing a heating or cooling medium to the jig coming into contact with the die holder. CONSTITUTION:A tubular hole 9 is made respectively on the shoe block 3, segment 5 and abuttment 8 which are subjected to the face contact with a die holder 7. The heating and cooling mediums are then fed into a tubular hole 9 via a transport pipe 12 and circulated by a circulation pump 11 from a storage tank 10. A shower type cooler 13 is installed at the inlet side of the circulation pump 11 and a gas burner type heater 14 at the outlet side. The silicone oil excellent in heat resistance is used as the heating and cooling medium and a die 6 and die holder 7 are heated and cooled with good efficiency by heating or cooling the silicone oil from the external side of the transport pipe 12.
