PURPOSE:To prevent the indiscriminate setting of a range finding mode during surveying work, by providing a mode setting part for setting a mode other than the range finding mode except when the display corresponding to surveying data relating to a distance is performed. CONSTITUTION:The title equipment is constituted of range finding parts 20, 40, an angle measuring part 60, a first memory part 81, a first control operation part 80, a first display part 82 and a mode setting part 83 for setting a mode other than a range finding mode except when the display corresponding to surveying data relating to a distance is performed. The operation part 80 performs the operation of surveying data in predetermined order on the basis of the data stored in the memory part 81 and the display part 82 perform the display corresponding to said surveying data. When the display corresponding to the surveying data relating to the distance is performed on the display part 82 by the mode setting part 83, the range finding mode is set and, except when the display corresponding to the surveying data relating to the distance is performed by the display device 82, the mode other than the range finding mode is set.
