PURPOSE:To improve a workability and a safety characteristic by a method wherein a pilot burner port is arranged, a flame is formed at the pilot port under operation of an ignition lever of one-touch type, a flame is transferred to a main flame port to perform an ignition and then a back-fire prevention device is assembled in a gas chamber. CONSTITUTION:A net-like back-fire prevention device 18 is removably assembled in a gas chamber 18' formed between a gas supplying port 3 and a mixing chamber 5 so as to improve a safety characteristic. An ignition lever 13 is pushed into the device, a pilot gas on/off valve 12 is opened, gas is supplied to a pilot flame port 8 and simultaneously a Piezo-electric ignition device 15 is operated to perform a spark discharge between electrodes 8a and then an ignition is made at the pilot flame port 8. Then, a knob 11 is operated to open a mixing gas needle valve 10 and as the mixing gas is injected from the port 2, the flame is transferred from the port 8 to the port 2. After this flame transfer, as a hand is released from the ignition lever 13, the lever 13 automatically returns by a spring and then the flame at the pilot flame port 8 is extinguished.
