PURPOSE:To make uniform a frost layer distribution on the heat transfer surface of a finned heat exchanger to largely increase the operating time of the heat pump by providing the outdoor of the heat pump with a plurality of vent ports on the upper and lower surfaces of the finned heat pump part of a casing encircling the finned heat exchanger, a blower and the like thereby to form a three-side suction system. CONSTITUTION:A casing 8 encircles a finned heat exchanger 6, a blower 7 and the like to form a ventilation path, and a plurality of vent ports 9, 10 and 11 are provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the parts of the finned heat exchanger 6 of the casing 8. Further, in the finned heat exchanger 6 external air flowing in the directions of arrows 14, 15 and 16 between fins aligned in parallel at predetermined intervals is heat-exchanged with a coolant flowing within a heat transfer pipe perpendicularly inserted in to the fins 12. The finned heat exchanger 6 realizes a threeside suction system installed on the windside of the blower 7, and further the sizes of the vent ports 9, 10 and 11 are made larger successively from the windside to the leeward side. External air flows uniformly onto the heat transfer surface of the finned heat exchanger and the frost layer becomes uniform, and thus the operation time of the heat exchanger can be increased. |
