PURPOSE:To secure the highly efficient use of a main memory by loading selectively the control modules for extend parts set in an operating system OS into the main memory from an external memory device with an instruction given from a program. CONSTITUTION:A basic part control module 2 of an OS is resident at a main memory 1 and contains a means 6 which loads an extend part control module 3 of the OS set in an external memory device 8 into the device 1 with an instruction given from a program 4. Furthermore the module 2 also contains a means 7 to delete the module 3 loaded to the device 1. The module 3 containing a necessary function is loaded to the memory 1 for each designation of the program 4. When said module 3 is not needed any more, the program 4 given an instruction to the module 2 to delete the module 3. Thus the effective use of the memory 1 is secured.
