PURPOSE:To obtain a dye laser having high conversion efficiency and high stability by containing a specific compound in a dye solution. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compounds shown in formulae I-VI is contained in a dye solution in a dye laser. Where n1 and n2 represent 0-1, lintegers of 0-3, R1 and R7 an alkyl group, R2 an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, R3-R5 a hydrogen atom, the alkyl group, an alkoxy group, a hydroxy group, an amino group or a halogen atom, Z1-Z3 atoms required for forming a five-membered ring or a six-membered ring, X<-> an anion, p 1-2, and L, L1, L2 a methine group or a substituted methine group. It is preferable that the concentration of a methine dye shown in the formulae I-VI extends over 10<-1>-10<-6> mol/l. Water and various organic solvents are used as the solvent of the dye solution. |
