PURPOSE:To prevent a seal agent from penetrating a gap part between an optical film and a reflecting plate or a liquid crystal cell by cutting the optical film like a quarter-wave plate at a certain depth with a dumbbell having double blades to form burrs (projecting parts) having a uniform height. CONSTITUTION:A dumbbell 1 is equipped with two blades 2 and 2', and heated blades 2 and 2' are pressed to an optical film 4, which is adhered to a plate- shaped liquid crystal cell 3 with an adhesive 21, with a certain load P to form burrs (projecting parts) 5-8 having a uniform height (h) in the right and the left of blades. A reflecting plate 13 is laminated on the cut optical film 4 and the liquid crystal cell 3 and the reflecting plate 13 are stuck to each other to complete the lamination process. A seal part 14 is formed on the outside peripheral part of laminated reflecting plate 13, optical film 4, and plate-shaped liquid crystal cell 3. Thus, penetration of the sealing adhesive is prevented by the first, the second, or the third dam, and defective goods due to penetration of the seal agent over three dams are eliminated. |
