<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a void part directly leading to an evaporated fuel feed port and an atmospheric port part from occurring as well as to keep off any drop in collecting capacity of a canister, by installing a spare adsorbent cham ber, made up of projecting the upper part upward, in an adsorbent housing chamber of the canister. CONSTITUTION:A flat canister case 15 is provided with an evaporated fuel feed port 16, a purge port 17 and an atmospheric port 18 being opened to an adsorbent chamber 19, respectively. In this case, an upper wall 15c, little to the side of the atmospheric port 18, of the canister case is formed to be more protuberant then another upper wall 15d, and this part is set down to a spare adsorbent chamber 19a. And, there is provided with a movable catch basin 20 which is energized by a spring 23 so as to pressurize one side face of the adsorbent layer 21 housed in the adsorbent housing chamber 19. And, a void part, which directly leads to such ports 16 and 18 that are possible to be formed in the whole surface of an upper part of the adsorbent layer 21 in the case where trouble occurs and the movable catch basin 20 fails to do its slide motion, is made so as to be solvable by a dead load drop of an adsorbent inside the spare housing chamber 19a.</p> |
