METHOD FOR PROCESSING POINT OF SYNTHETIC RESIN MONOFILAMENT

PURPOSE:To uniformly and efficiently perform the blunting and spheroidizing of the points of monofilaments by a method wherein the points of the monofilaments are exposed to the specified temperature zone under the state that their non-heated portions are cooled down below the specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:The non-heated portions 4 of monofilaments 1 are cooled down to 40 deg.C or below, especially to 5-15 deg.C and shifted by being held with a holder 5 so as to bring their point parts through the inserting port 3 in the heating zone 2 of a heater H while moving in a longitudinal direction as it is in order to heat them at a temperature higher than the softening point of the stock synthetic resin of the monofilament or especially higher by 5 deg.C, resulting in melting the end points so as to blunt or spheroidize them. The staying time of the end points of the monofilaments in the heater is 10sec or more or preferably 20-30sec. Thus, the uniform blunting the spheroidizing of the points of the monofilaments can be realized.
