The invention relates to a hydraulic excavator with a multi-component extension arm for bearing a shovel or another pivotably suspended implement, in particular an excavator grab, a hammer gear or the like. The invention makes it possible to set working implements to the desired angular position during operation and under load, which working implements are pivotably suspended from the end of the multi-component extension arm. The invention consists in a carrier of the working implement being pivotably and fixably arranged at the end of the extension arm, and the carrier being provided with a pivot lever on which a hydraulic cylinder/piston unit for the pivoting and fixing of the carrier engages, which unit is mounted at its other end on the end part of the extension arm.
