[Also in Group XII] A suctionoperable air sterilizing apparatus comprises a closed chamber a for containing water or other air-washing liquid, an inlet for the liquid, a liquid outlet d, e in the form of a U-tube or the like, means for admitting atmospheric air to the chamber, a heater i for destroying the bacterial content of the air before entering the chamber and an outlet h for the sterilized air. As shewn, suction applied at h, e.g. by a servicing system for contaminable liquids draws air through heater i where it is sterilized and thence through a pipe k into a cooling coil m of which the upper convolution n is provided with air outlet orifices allowing the sterilized air to bubble through the washing liquid which runs continuously through the apparatus and is removed through the U-tube whose lower limb d is provided with a funnel f, to be withdrawn at the outlet h.
