PURPOSE:To prevent the lowing of the clearness of a copy by providing a cleaning device having a toner recovering box in the lower periphery of a photosensitive body, rotating the photosensitive body with a developing device while operating an existing developing device and at the same time, bringing the cleaning device in sliding contact with the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:When copying of specified number of sheets is completed, one of peripheral devices such as a copying device 12, a separating device 13, etc., installed under a photosensitive drum 8, for instance a transfer device, is detached, and a cleaning device 30 provided with a toner recovering box 31 is attached there. The cleaning device 30 has a blade 32 as a toner scraping member. While operating the existing developing device 11 the photosensitive body drum 8 is rotated, and at the same time, the blade 32 is brought into sliding contact with the photosensitive body drum 8. In such case, a main electrifying device 9 is not operated. However, by applying bias voltage to the developing roller 11a of the developing device 11 as in the case of normal copying, reverse polarity toner and paper powder, etc., accumulated in the developing device are scraped off by the blade 32, and recovered in a toner recovering box 31. |
