PURPOSE:To attain the automatic recovery to the state before the occurrence of a fault comparatively simply if a power failure takes place by storing all key input data into a floppy disk as they are automatically. CONSTITUTION:A key data buffer 6 and an edition flag 7 are backed up by a battery and the level of the edition flag 7 goes to logical '1' during the generation and edition of a sentence. If a power failure takes place, the content of an edition memory 3 is lost, while the contents stored in the edition flag 7, the key data buffer 6 and the floppy disk device remain unchanged. When the power failure is restored and the power is applied again, a control section 2 confirms the content of the edition flag 7 automatically and when the content is at '1', the contents stored in the key data buffer 6 and the floppy disk device 5 are transferred to the edition memory 3 in place of the key input data. Thus, the content of the edition memory 3 and the display on the display device 4 restore to the state before the power failure.
