PURPOSE:To display a more detailed and adequate message corresponding to the operating status of a numerical controller, by displaying a message generated by a user with a prescribed means stored in a message storing means by a display means, at the time of inputting prescribed data by a data input means. CONSTITUTION:At the time of inputting the prescribed data with the data input means by the display means, the message generated by the user is displayed with the prescribed means stored in the message storing means. The message stored in a memory 12 is generated by a sequence program developing tool to generate a sequence program stored in a memory 8, and a message 'Input the data' is the one generated by the user. An easy operation can be performed by displaying the message in a KANJI(Chinese character), or a HIRAGANA(cursive form of Japanese syllabary), compared with a message in a current English, or a KATAKANA(square form of Japanese syllabary). Also, it is possible to display the more detailed message corresponding to a status compared with the message generated by a manufacture.
