PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit constitution and to shorten time required for operating and processing a picture by obtaining a differential value between current picture information data and data obtained by delaying said data by N-bits and a differential value between the current picture information data and data obtained by shifting said data by N-lines, and operating and processing the picture. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that the output of a frame memory 1, that is, original picture information data, is (a) and data obtained by shifting said data in a horizontal direction by one data is (b). The differential value in the horizontal direction, a contour in the horizontal direction, for example, can be extracted from (a-b). Where data obtained by shifting the original picture information data in a vertical direction, that is, shifting by one line, is (c), the differential value in the vertical direction, a contour in said direction, for example, can be obtained from (a-c). The contour going up as it comes to right (45 deg.) can be extracted from (a-d). Similarly the contour going up as it comes to left (135 deg.) can be obtained by inverting the positive or negative of the difference between column counters. Thus the differential value of graphic information, can be obtained by a simple circuit constitution and the operation time of such system is shortened compared with production sum operations. |
