The set comprises an outer exhaust valve whose tubular cylindrical body 9 has, at its lower part, a bearing surface 8 in order to engage an annular seat of the cylinder head. At its inner part the body 9 has an inner seat 12 intended to be engaged by an outer bearing surface of the head 13 of the exhaust valve. The stem 14 of the exhaust valve slides inside the upper central stem 11 of the exhaust valve which is connected to the body 9 by fins 10. This exhaust valve structure frees large intake cross-sections whilst allowing this valve to be lightened to a great extent. The invention makes it possible to improve the efficiency of internal combustion engines. <IMAGE>
