A connector according to the invention for producing an electrical connection to a wire comprises an electrical pin (2), a sleeve (14) which can be expanded flexibly in a sprung manner, and an insulating socket (16). In order to produce the connection, a fine magnetic wire (magnet wire) (W) is wound around the sleeve (14) in order to form a wire winding (C), and the pin (2) is then pressed downwards in the socket (16), driving the sleeve (14) with it, to be precise in such a manner that a part (4) of the pin (2) having an enlarged cross-section enters the sleeve (14) and in consequence expands it so that the wire winding (C) is compressed between the sleeve (14) and the inner wall (54) of the socket (16). The sleeve (14) has externally located notch teeth (28) for penetrating the varnish insulation on the wire (W). <IMAGE>
